Richard Bron (UK)

Richard Bron is a successful entrepreneur who combines over 4 decades of experience across the Media, Technology and Entertainment sectors. In 1981 he joined his family’s music businesses and became CEO of Bronze Records, a joint venture with Chris Blackwell and Island Records. This included working in the areas of Artist Management, Music Publishing, Booking Agency, Concert Promotion, Video and Music Production and afforded him the opportunity to work with major artists such as; Motorhead, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Def Leppard, The Damned, Uriah Heep, Osibisa, Hawkwind, Colosseum, Girlschool, Robbie Williams and Metallica.

In 1994 Richard established a new venture called Blueprint Digital as a software development company, creating customised systems for blue chip organizations including Cable and Wireless, British Telecom, Apple and Glaxo Smith Kline.

As the Millennium dawned, and with it the emergence of Digital Media Distribution, Richard became one of the first entrepreneurs to recognize both the threat and opportunity that this medium promised. Blueprint pioneered a revolutionary digital supply chain platform for the content industry resulting in the first digital download and streaming services launched to consumers by mainstream retailers like Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, HMV, Virgin, Media Saturn and Tesco. This platform was the underlying driver for the evolution of the global “Ultraviolet” Digital Movie service currently being used by the major movie studios, which Richard was instrumental in creating.

This has led to Richard being considered by many to be amongst the foremost thought leaders on the convergence of Media, Entertainment and Technology and to him being engaged as an advisor to global business leaders and corporations such as Microsoft, Walmart, Tesco, NBC/Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, News Corp, Google, Logitech, Red Bull, DHL, Media Saturn, TiVo, HMV, Getty Images, BBC, Comcast, Archos, Adobe, Google, Intel, Liberty Media (Formula1) and Liberty Global (FormulaE), ATT and Time/Warner, on their emergence in today’s Digital Ecosystems, their most critical issues, opportunities, strategy, marketing, organization, operations, technology, digital convergence, advanced analytics, transformations and acquisitions.

Now, as Chairman of the Concorde Media Group, and as part of his work on the next generation of Content distribution and Entertainment technologies, Richard has also recently been involved in advising companies in the Hospitality sector such as Jumeirah, Mandarin Oriental, Accor, Mövenpick, citizenM, Four Seasons, Kempinski, IHG and Fairmont.
