Bartleby Delicate(LU)

*ONLY ONLINE APPEARANCE

singer-songwriter / electronic

Getting an invitation to play one of your first shows ever as an opener for Rodrigo y Gabriela or having musician Tom Rosenthal listening to your music in his playlist of hidden gems is only part of Bartleby Delicate’s story. Starting as a singer-songwriter venture, it quickly developed into a unique sound laboratory of loops and samples, a feigned band led by the Luxembourg solo artist. Whatever you want to call it, Bartleby Delicate is the incorporation of modern folk music, combining traditional songwriting with the electronic sounds of the present and future.

Georges Goerens, the nineties boy behind the project, mixes his own cocktail of philosophical phrases, fingerpicking, and electronics, coinciding with what has been described by listeners as magical music. His performance is as vulnerable as Daniel Johnston and as determined as Kurt Cobain’s. The formula is simple in the end: with an honest will to share of the outer, it becomes a live experience in its purest form. Bartleby Delicate proposes a special concert with a narrative performance where the lines between music and poetry become blurry.

Since starting the project in 2017, Bartleby Delicate has not shied away from showing his music to audiences all over Europe. In the first year, he had already played at several showcase festivals, such as The Great Escape and Sonic Visions. Good feedback allowed him to support more bands like Rhye, Tom Odell, Aldous Harding, and Kate Davis as well as festivals like Reeperbahn, SPOT, WAVES, and Detakali. Stay tuned for more new music to come later this fall!
