Kabloonak – stage name of multi instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Jonas Narbutas. It is a nickname given to Jonas by his father when he was a kid, meaning ‘foreigner’ in Innuit language (literally meaning ‘a white man’, since white men were the first foreigners to visit their lands). Accompanied by a classical guitar and a band of friends, Kabloonak will lead you through romantic stories from his hometown Vilnius, its streets, bars, old cinemas, rooftops and sidewalks. A song can happen anywhere. A little bit of imagination, mixed with Kabloonak’s own experience and suddenly you’re a “kabloonak” – a foreigner, in a land of memories too. Revisiting all the loves won and lost it might feel a bit sad, a bit nostalgic, but also very warm inside. It’s a sad and beautiful world.
